The Tyrant in Chief (TIC) continues unabated in his assault on all of our democratic institutions and on our Constitution, even as the House of Representatives draws ever closer to impeaching him for his many High Crimes and Misdemeanors. Even as he does so, a slim majority of Americans now approve not only of the impeachment inquiry but also of his removal from office. What is disconcerting to me, however, is that 40% of the country still supports the TIC from being removed. Once public impeachment hearings begin soon, and as more of the damning facts regarding the TIC’s criminal and obstructionist behavior become more widely known, one can only hope that public support for him will continue to erode even among what remains of his ardent supporters.
Hopefully at least 20 Rethuglican Senators will come to their senses and vote to remove the Kremlin-installed Tyrant concluding the Impeachment Trial in the Senate. That way, the justice system (if it still exists) can begin indicting him for all of the various crimes he committed before and after entering the Oval Office.
We can only hope.
On the line is democracy itself, not only our own democracy but that of all democracies throughout the world. If the House impeaches and our Senators fail to convict, the Senate will be authorizing the worst kind of tyrannical, fascist, authoritarian behavior imaginable. It will mark the end of the line for the United States of America, as we know it. Approving the behavior of such a corrupt administration will lead us into a hellish unknown. It is not merely the Tyrant in Chief that we will fail to rid ourselves of as a people. It will be a rubber stamp for all the lawless leaders that will follow after him. Kiss democracy goodbye. Kiss our Constitution goodbye.
The last vestige of hope—given that our lawless TIC has already shown us that he is not above soliciting, even requiring, the help of foreign governments to subvert our next (and perhaps our last) presidential election—will be the vote that occurs on a year from today, November 3, 2020.
We must hope that enough Americans will turn out to vote in such numbers that cannot be messed with or refuted, throwing out the tyrannical bum and all of the Rethuglican scum who appear to be just as much a part of the Kremlin-supported crime syndicate that has successfully taken over our federal government as our Putin-appointed president.
It will be up to the American people, ultimately.
We are the only ones that can save our country. We must either make our will known in sufficient numbers during the impeachment process itself, such that enough Senate Rethuglicans find their courage to vote for the Orange Demon removal from power, or we must do so on a year from today, November 3, 2020, by throwing the outlaw out on his ass, along with all of the Rethuglicans who have aided, abetted, encouraged and knowingly gone along with his blatant attacks on our democracy and our Constitution.
Either way, a public reckoning is coming. Either we will stand in numbers too large to ignore, en masse during the Impeachment Trial or next November 3, or we will not.
If we act decisively as patriotic Americans and take a stand against tyranny, just as our nation’s founder once did, we can save ourselves, and begin anew. But should enough of us choose to ignore the fate that awaits us on November 3 of next year, should we fail to act as patriots and stand, to protest, to call our Representatives and our Senators and make our feelings known, should we fail to take action and vote, we will have no one but ourselves to blame when we lose everything: our power, our right to vote, our freedom.
Consider for just a moment what will happen to our country if, after the Tyrant in Chief is impeached by the House, as he surely will be, Senators fail to do their constitutional duty and remove him from office; then imagine a presidential campaign in which the tyrant receives the illegal aid and support from foreign nations which he has already and publicly sought and illegally solicited; now imagine that through the help of Kremlin, Ukranian, Iranian, North Korean and Chinese corruption at our polls and throughout the election, with no paper trail to prove the inherent dishonesty of the vote count, the Tyrant is shown as the winner; and lastly imagine, what the Tyrant will do to our Constitutional process in his next term. Will he proclaim himself Dear Leader and end future elections as we know them? Will he remain in office until his death? Will he appoint on his deathbed, that Ivanka will succeed him as president? Having succeeded in disarming all constitutional checks and balances, how will anyone stop him? Would anyone? Could anyone?
Let that all sink in.
That’s dystopian reality may well be on the ballot a year from today, if the Tyrant is not removed or forced to resign. Think about it: November 3, 2020. It’s only a year away, but it is more than enough time to lose the fight, to end democracy once and for all, and to welcome in a brand new age of Oligarchs ruling the world.
We still have a year. But one year only. During the coming year we must all do more than hope. Collectively, all patriotic Americans must rise up and act. Now, this year, before it is too late.
